มุ่งสร้างเสริมภูมิคุ้มกันผู้สูงอายุ

บริษัท แกล็กโซสมิทไคล์น (ประเทศไทย) จำกัด หรือ GSK ร่วมสนับสนุนสถานทูตอังกฤษ จัดงาน "Re-imagining UK Aging Care Event" เพื่อหารือเกี่ยวกับสังคมผู้สูงอายุ แนวปฏิบัติและแนวทางแก้ไขในการส่งเสริมสุขภาพผู้สูงอายุ ผ่านกลยุทธ์และนวัตกรรมด้านการดูแลสุขภาพต่าง ๆ เพื่อพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุ

นางมาเรีย คริสติช กรรมการผู้จัดการ บริษัท แกล็กโซสมิทไคล์น (ประเทศไทย) จำกัด หรือ GSK เปิดเผยว่า GSK ผู้นำในการค้นคว้าและวิจัยยาและวัคซีนนวัตกรรมระดับโลก มุ่งขับเคลื่อนในการเป็นบริษัทด้านชีวเภสัช (Biopharma) ที่มีจุดมุ่งหมายในการนำความรู้ทางวิทยาศาสตร์มาผนวกกับเทคโนโลยี และความสามารถของบุคลากร เพื่อให้ก้าวนำการป้องกันโรคภัยต่างๆ GSK พร้อมสนับสนุนทุกภาคส่วนในการรณรงค์ให้ประชาชนเห็นความสำคัญและตระหนักถึงความจำเป็นของการสร้างเสริมภูมิคุ้มกันโรคด้วยวัคซีนสำหรับประชาชน โดยเฉพาะผู้สูงอายุที่มีภูมิต้านทานต่ำเนื่องจากอายุที่เพิ่มขึ้น จึงควรเข้ารับการตรวจสุขภาพกับแพทย์ เพื่อทำความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับโรคต่างๆ และหาแนวทางการป้องกันโรคที่เหมาะสม เพื่อยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุ

ภายในงาน "Re-imagining UK Aging Care Event" จัดกิจกรรมเสวนาวิชาการ หัวข้อ “What are the vaccine-preventable diseases for elderly? and how are they important?” และหัวข้อ “Shaping the Future of Ageing Care in Thailand” โดย GSK ได้ร่วมออกบูธเรื่อง “The Importance of Adult Immunization” โดยบุคลากรทางการแพทย์ของ GSK เพื่อให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับการส่งเสริมภูมิคุ้มกันในผู้ใหญ่ และโรคที่ป้องกันได้ด้วยวัคซีน

GSK Participates in the British Embassy's "Re-imagining UK Aging Care Event" with a Focus on Enhancing Adult Immunization

GlaxoSmithKline (Thailand) Company Limited, or GSK, is supporting the British Embassy in hosting the "Re-imagining UK Aging Care Event," focused on addressing challenges related to an aging society. The event aims to explore recommendations and solutions for enhancing elderly health, employing diverse and innovative healthcare strategies to elevate their quality of life.

Ms. Marija Krstic, General Manager, GlaxoSmithKline (Thailand) Company Limited (GSK), shared that GSK is the leader of research and development in innovative medicines and vaccines globally. The company's vision is to become a leading global biopharma company with a purpose to unite science, technology, and talent to get ahead of diseases together. As a result, GSK is committed to advocating for public awareness regarding the vital role of vaccination in disease prevention. Particularly for the elderly population, who are more vulnerable due to age-related immunity decline, GSK encourages medical consultations to enhance disease understanding and adopt suitable prevention options, thus enhancing their overall quality of life.

"GSK is supporting the British Embassy to host the "Re-imagining UK Aging Care Event," aimed at sharing expertise and establishing benchmarks for elderly care standards. This initiative encompasses advancements in health technology and innovative vaccines, alongside holistic care services emphasizing both mental and physical well-being, with the objective of raising public awareness regarding elderly care in Thailand," said Ms. Krstic.

Within the "Re-imagining UK Aging Care Event", an academic discussion activity was organized on the topics of “What are vaccine-preventable diseases for the elderly and how are they important?” along with “Shaping the Future of Aging Care in Thailand”. GSK contributed by setting up a booth covering “The Importance of Adult Immunization” with GSK medical personnel on hand to provide knowledge on promoting adult immunization and vaccine preventable diseases.
